Asteri LiveStream, the esports audience engagement tool designed initially for esports and event producers from Asteri Networks Inc., (https://www.asteri.io/), was tapped by Ubisoft’s “Rainbow Six North American League” and their event partner FACEIT, for the “Rainbow Six” finals competition that took place November 13-15, 2020.

Ubisoft (ubisoft.com), a French headquartered global video game company reported that for fiscal year 2020, which ended in March 2020, Ubisoft had generated 1.53 billion euros in game sales.[i]

In Ubisoft October 2020 earnings report, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Siege based on the popular novel, showed solid player acquisition during the quarter. Over 65 million registered players and circa €2.5 billion in cumulative total consumer spending since launch. [ii]

“Rainbow Six Siege” released back in 2015 and it’s still one of the most popular shooters in the worlds. After a slow start, Ubisoft managed to improve many aspects of the game and attract millions of players on both consoles and PC.

In October Xbox officially confirmed that Rainbow Six Siege will be available on Console with Xbox Game Pass and cloud gaming on Androids with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The company esports group manages their own global esports league for the game which has attracted major esports teams globally. The event last weekend will lead to the Grand Finals, Rainbow Six Siege 2020 tournament in December.

The teams competing included Dark Zero Esports, TSM, Oxygen Esports, Spacestation Gaming. TSM prevailed and will face off with the European championship team in December for the Grand Finals, which will determine the top global team for 2020 in the Ubisoft managed league.

Ubisoft tapped Asteri LiveStream to extend the viewership of the event to loyal game fans through Asteri’s network of game websites and social channels. Asteri’s technology uniquely translates website metrics into concurrent viewers to enable major esports teams, and event producers to reach high quality audiences that are measured in the same way that Twitch, YouTube Gaming and other Live Stream platforms report viewers.
